Every city needs places where you can unwind, and for Rapture one of the best places to do so was Fort Frolic. Here you could find a bit of everything: bars, boutiques, theaters, record stores, casinos, strip clubs. It was hard to tell when it was evening in Rapture, but hours had passed since the Fandomites had arrived. It wouldn't be safe to move on while tired, so it was probably in your best interest if you stayed put for the night. When the Fandomites woke up on Friday, they'd find themselves in a damp, dark and very obviously underwater city. Look out any window and you'd see the ocean floor.
